Have to say I love your Marla books and i fully intend on buying whatever I can from amazon. Read the first one and have been hooked ever since. had to go to a couple of different bookstores to buy the first few in print. Thank you for continuing them online. I was pissed when I found out they dropped you. But, worked out for the best because then I found this wonderful site. Thank you for all the wonderful work you do. XD
(Ok yeah… that was a crapton of gushing but.. You are one of my favorite authors so… :P) Happy new Year!

Just finished Grim Tides, got to say I loved it. No spoilers here, so I can’t really say more. Interesting framing device though Tim, when did you decide to use it?

Also I just realized that Marla Mason in my head looks a lot like Vin from Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn series, is it just me or does anyone else imagine them the same?

Thanks, Jeremy. I love stories with mysterious narrators who are only gradually revealed, so as soon as I realized I could tell this story that way, I decided to go for it — it was a choice I made fairly early on. I like the extra level of subjectivity it adds to the story.
